Urban League Releases Family Engagement Toolkit
YouthForce NOLA and the Urban League of Louisiana are pleased to announce the release of the Family Engagement Toolkit. This toolkit was designed and crafted with a singular focus: engage families as partners to increase student success. The online guide features a wealth of resources for schools to assist in achieving this goal. The benefits of parental involvement are well established: higher student achievement, fewer behavioral problems, and improved emotional functioning. The YFN Family Engagement Toolkit reviews the evidence and offers strategies to help engage families as partners in schools’ career and technical education programs. In addition to best practices, the toolkit provides concrete tools for facilitating engagement, including plan templates, checklists, focus group protocols, surveys, and talking points.
