YouthForce NOLA Announces Partnerships with Training Providers

YouthForce NOLA is working to increase the number and breadth of high-quality technical training opportunities so that students can earn industry-recognized credentials while still in high school. Since we started just over three years ago, the number of New Orleans students earning credentials in high-wage, high-demand career pathways has increased more than 300%.

This success wouldn’t be possible, though, without the commitment of our school partners and a strong network of quality training providers. That’s why we’re especially pleased to announce the following new partnerships through which we’ll be providing technical assistance and financial resources to help training providers offer the coursework necessary for students to earn statewide industry-based credentials.

The New Orleans Career Center will serve as the citywide hub for high-quality, industry-driven and aligned high school technical training coursework. The Career Center launches its first programs for students in August in Healthcare and Engineering & Manufacturing pathways. It will initially serve over 100 students pursuing the Medical Assistant and AutoDesk Inventor credentials. The vision is that – over time – the career center will build out and expand additional career pathways options and CTE training providers will co-locate with the Career Center in order to provide a singular, citywide destination for technical training.
