The Results Are In: Employers Give YouthForce Interns High Marks

Employers play an integral part in the YouthForce NOLA continuum of student experiences. This summer, 90 local employers — in three of our region’s high-wage, high-demand career pathways: Digital Media/IT, Health Sciences, and Skilled Crafts — hosted student interns. Not only are these employers helping prepare students for promising careers, they’re nurturing the new talent that their businesses need. It’s a win-win, especially when the students receive such rave reviews, like:

  • 84% of supervisors said the professionalism of their intern was more favorable than or similar to an entry-level employee

  • 82% of supervisors said the professionalism of their intern was more favorable than or similar to that of an undergraduate college intern

  • 86% of supervisors said they’d recommend the YouthForce Internship Program to other businesses
