Shout Out: Jomyra

In addition to the typical clothes and accoutrements of an incoming freshman, Jomyra brought something quite valuable with her to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette — an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Industrial Technology that she earned while a student at Landry-Walker High School and led her to choose Petroleum Engineering as her major.

Shout Out: Theronae

Balancing high school with work and classes at Nunez Community College was no easy task. But it all paid off for Theronae when she graduated this May with, not only a high school diploma from Landry-Walker High School, but a well-earned Certificate of Technical Studies and concrete work experience via the YouthForce Internship program. She’s well prepared for success when she starts classes at Dillard University this fall.

Both Jomyra and Theronae were participants in the Urban League of Louisiana’s Project Ready program.
