Internships Prepare Students for Success

YouthForce Internships: Real-World Skills. Real-Life Success.

Individuals with relevant jobs or internships on their resume are more likely to get a good job. That’s why paid internships in high-wage fields are a capstone experience of YouthForce NOLA’s system-wide effort to prepare New Orleans students for success in life. With the support of our many partners, YouthForce Internships (YFI) is growing and has recently achieved a significant milestone:

47 NOLA High Schoolers Set to Begin Internships at High Wage Companies

Forty-seven students will begin their Spring 2018 semester internship placements next month. Students recently completed 60 hours of soft-skills and business etiquette training. This new class of interns will add to the 258 students who have already completed the program since 2015 and puts us on track to meet our goal that at least 10% of the Class of 2020 will complete YouthForce Internships.

Key to the program’s success are the local employers who provide internships in YouthForce NOLA’s three high-wage, high-demand fields: health sciences, digital media/IT, and skilled crafts.
